SEO-Friendly URLs with WordPress Video Transcribed

Today this is extremely important and this is something that especially newer bloggers miss out on and the quicker that you can implement this the better you are going to be set up for the search engines. It’s a critical SEO necessity for your blog if you really want to optimize it. And it’s about permalinks so click on permalinks in your WordPress admin and as you can see you got a lot of these choices. Basically WordPress gives you a page number for every single post blog that you write.

And that is what is the actual URLs gonna be. But to be honest with you that doesn’t do a lot of good for you. Rather I would want you to do a custom structure and you can follow this.  Basically you’re using just the post name, so whatever you have labeled the title of your blog post that becomes your URL string. So here’s a quick example what that looks like… So instead of having your yourblog.com/?p1125. It’s going to be yourblog.com/earn-money-blogging and that is smart SEO for the search engines because if you’re targeting the keyword phrase “earn money blogging” and you’re talking about in your blog post. Thats just going to give you more green light effect -more juice to help you rank better in the search engines, so make sure those URLs are set up correctly. A correct SEO URL will lead to better rankings and more traffic.

I had to transfer my old blogger content on to my new wordpress site and I was unable to change to a custom URL because my old site had the date in the url. Is there anyway to change to a custom URL without losing my old blogger content?
