Solve Problems for Money | Earn a Living Solving These 6 Problems

solve problems for money

I’d easily win the award for the strangest little league photo as a kid. When I was in first grade, I came down with chickenpox. Yes, the kind that is super contagious.

Yet, even though I was contagious for some strange reason, my parents still drove me to participate in my Little League team photo. I still have the picture to this day. Holding a bat in uniform with full-on chickenpox.

One could argue that maybe I was passed the point of being contagious. I guess so.

Still, my problem was obvious to everyone who saw me. I wasn’t in need of a home run swing. I was in need of solving my most obvious problem – ridding the chickenpox.

The same is true for building your own online business.

It’s natural for us as speakers, writers, and coaches to dive too quickly into the systems, techniques, and tools without first addressing the most obvious problem first.

What’s the most obvious problem of the person you are trying to help?

Did you know you can solve problems for money?

I think there are really only six surface-level problems that we all face. Your niche may only solve one of these problems, or they could tackle a few of these.

Whether you are writing your sales page, creating your new online course, writing a new book, or having a conversation with a potential coaching client, you would be wise to identify which of the six most obvious problems they are facing.

Figuring this out before you start a blog is essential. Let's jump into this.

1. Identity

We all want to live lives that matter. We want to feel like we have something valuable to contribute in this world.

  • We want to have a voice
  • We want to matter to other people
  • We want to be loved and cared for
  • We want to be told we have a special gift and that it’s needed in the world.

Helping others stand firm in their identity can be some of the most rewarding work you can pursue.

Does your blog help others in shaping a powerful identity?

Obvious signs of a lack of identity include:

  • Weak or innate action
  • Lack of confidence
  • Lack of purpose or significance
  • A victim’s mentality

2. Health

We want to live with energy and vitality. We want to have an active lifestyle well into our old age. We want a good report from the doctor. We want to eat right and feel good. Do you help others with their need for better health?

Obvious signs of a lack of health include:

  • Lack of energy
  • Poor health report
  • Inability to follow through on projects

3. Wealth

Maybe your blog helps others create the wealth they desire. You can assist them in earning money, which allows them more freedom to spend time with their family.

You can help others build more wealth in order to contribute to areas that are under-resourced. You can be the expert that helps others create more value in the world.

Obvious signs of lack of wealth include:

  • Too much personal debt
  • Strain on relationships
  • Chaotic personal budget

4. Relationships

Relationships are another key problem area that people need help with. Does your blog speak to the relational challenges that others face in their marriage, extended family, or friends area?

Relationship issues will never go away as long as there are people around.

Obvious signs of relationship tension include:

  • Inability to perform well at work
  • Emotional instability
  • Conflict and drama
  • Financial issues

5. Spirituality

While it’s not obvious to many, they have a core need for a connection to their Creator. The proof is in the number of different religions around the world. Most of us fundamentally understand our need for God in our life.

Through your writing, speaking, and coaching, you can lead others into a closer walk with God.

Obvious signs of a lack of spirituality include:

  • Lack of purpose
  • Feeling of disconnection
  • Weighed down by guilt or despair

6. Time Management

If there is a #1 problem I hear the most, it is a lack of time.

In today’s fast-paced world, we live life with no margins. There’s more to do than we have time available in our schedule.

Helping people uncover where they are wasting time and how to be more productive can be extremely rewarding work.

Obvious signs of a lack of time include:

  • Feeling of being overwhelmed
  • Inability to push forward on important goals
  • Over-promising and under-delivering
  • Lack of being able to do what matters most

Can you see the power of identifying which of the six problems you are attempting to solve?

Use this framework as a coaching tool when you come in contact with your target market.

Regardless of what niche, angle, demographic, or worldview you blog with, speak to at least one of these six problems always.
